LANGUAGE
Montenegrin language is the name given to the Ijekavian-Stokavian dialect, spoken in Montenegro. Some Montenegrins refer to their specific dialect as a language on its own, while others consider it a dialect of Serbian language. Latin alphabet is predominantly used for writing, however many people use Cyrillic and both scripts have equal status constitutionally. Montenegrin language is phonemic- each sound represents one letter. English is increasingly becoming the second language taught in schools. Italian, French and German are the next most common languages to be spoken.

VISAS
No visas are required when entering Montenegro, for citizens of the following countries: EU countries, Andorra, Albania, Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Byelorussia, Croatia, Israel, Iran, Island, Liechtenstein, Morocco, Malta, Macedonia, Moldova, Norway, New Zealand, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, San Marino, Tunisia, Turkey, Japan, Ukraine, USA, Vatican. For the stay of up to 30 days, citizens from the above mentioned countries need only an ID for crossing Montenegrin border. Citizens of other countries need to contact Serbian embassy or any Montenegrin consulate in order to obtain their visa.
